EGGStraordinary DIY Easter Eggs

Whether you’re a kid or an adult, decorating Easter eggs is such a fun creative activity! Grab some acrylic paints, markers, dye kits, and get creative! I have linked some of my favorite products to design Easter Eggs for you HERE!

Over the years I’ve taught workshops with this theme and decorated a variety of eggs. And although you can certainly use real eggs, I prefer to use paper mache, wood, plaster, or any kind of faux egg so I can use them over and over again! Totally up to you:)

Sometimes simple black and white makes a powerful, minimalistic, modern statement. Use a variety of Sharpies or Micron pens to create patterns, shapes and linework on plaster, paper mache, wooden or real eggs.

Creating abstract art on Easter eggs is one of my favorites…ger creative with color and remember to keep it loose and just play!

I also love painting flowers on Easter eggs. Dogwood blooms to remind us of the cross, pansies, cherry blossoms, daffodils, and ranunculus are just a few of my favorites.

You can always use stencils too or fold paper and cut to create your own stencils!

Inspired by the coast and seashells? Live at the beach? Paint shells in blue or any color and create a coastal Easter egg display for a centerpiece.

Maybe you’re an animal lover….paint animals, bugs or bees just for fun! Which one is your favorite?

Display your creations as a centerpiece on your table through the spring. I found these metal containers and filled them with green moss but you can find a variety of display options HERE. Can’t wait to see what you create! Don’t forget you can join my online creative community (no art experience necessary!) It’s called The Everyday Creative Club-an online creative community with monthly challenges, creative conversation, live events, tutorials and more. Learn more about THE EVERYDAY CREATIVE CLUB!
